Description

This basketry represents the symbiosis between drama and minimalism. On the one hand the baskets have an aspect, and sometimes dimensions, fascinatingly theatrical. On the other hand, an obvious elementary simplicity.

The palm basketry, both ilala and sisal, is typical of the Ndebele cultures in which they give these incredible forms, so natural and fresh, to a utilitarian object using indigenous materials and techniques.
