Senegal painting

This is a traditional African portrait painted by artists from Senegal who directly paint on glass with ‘sous verre’ painting technique (reverse glass painting technique).

Although this technique includes religious beliefs, it has evolved in profane motifs and symbols. The image composition transmits wonderful daily scenes of African life full of tenderness, innocence and colour.
